330-350 Pleasant St Watertown MA Underway.
Water Mills at Bridge Point. I think they might be running out of names for all of the projects along Pleasant St in Watertown. Or a focus group picked out 4 words they pay the most for when renting in a new development. 330, 340, 350 Pleasant St, Watertown MA recently broke ground for a new 99 unit residential and just over 5,000 s.f. commercial space. The updated Pleasant St. Corridor zoning is taking effect on the design of the new projects, in a positive way. It’s nice to see some added retail along the corridor. With all of the new apartment units and population over the past 3 years (700 or so units if I’m not mistaken) the area has finally reached a threshold where some new retail may actually get used.
The 99 unit building will have 67 1-bedroom apartments, 28 2-bedroom apartments and 4 3-bedroom apartments. Unique features of the design are the riverfront commercial spaces. One space is a 4,400 s.f. restaurant space. The other, a 700 sf commercial space with optional drive-through. I can’t imagine a situation where the drive through would get built. Bike through would be more appropriate, being just feet away from the Charles River greenway.
Other unique features include the parking lifts, which lift a car above another parking space. This is a great way to maximize the use of the site, and reduce the size of the parking lot. Great modern amenities that will hopefully catch on in future developments.
