It may be all fun and games come December for the famous Elf on the Shelf. But for 11 months out of the year, a better name would be Elf in Storage.
We caught up to the Elf while he was reporting back to the North Pole during the day.
SP: You’re really in the spot light during Christmas. That must special.
E: I’m the king of the world.
SP: So, what do you do the rest of the year?
E: Well, I’m going to be honest with you, it has it’s ups and downs. Mostly downs.
SP: Storage box?
E: Yeah, locked in a storage unit for 11 months. It gets pretty lonely. There’s a Tickle-Me-Elmo in there somewhere, but he’s pretty selfish.
SP: How do you pass the time?
E: It’s the look on those kids’ faces when they think I’m watching them. The 6 year old knows something is up. But the 4 year old still digs me. I’ve got another couple years of this I guess.
SP: Another couple years, then what?
E: I think the industry term is ‘dead storage’. Best case scenario is I end up on Craigslist. I’m just going to enjoy it for now.
SP: Well, best of luck to you. Thanks for taking the time to talk storage with us.
E: It’s been great, you’re welcome.
