Storage tips for living clutter free.
#1. Get ahead of clutter. Put it away before it becomes another obstacle. Compounding clutter leads to higher anxiety and it becomes less likely you will conquer your clutter.
#2. Use vertical storage. When considering something like file storage, we always line up aisles of files boxes or drawers for easy access and organization. This can be used with all types of storage. Especially easy when you are storing just boxes, be sure to each box can be found and pulled out when necessary. Piles of boxes will mean having to pull out everything and you will quickly lose track.
#3. You should really change out shower curtains once a year. But, in the spirit of upcycling, turn last years shower curtain into this year’s envy of your friends.
#4. Cycle toys. It’s hard to throw out or donate toys, but they are possibly the single greatest source of clutter in a house with kids. Instead, Box up half of them and store them away for 2-3 months. Bring them back and they will seem like new to your kids.
#5. Small appliances fit in with modern living. Kitchens are not getting any bigger. Or so it seems in Hudson. Especially consider 24″ wide refrigerators. It will keep you from overstocking
#12. Cheap thrills. Hide some cash, doesn’t have to be a lot, in the pocket of your winter jacket. Put the jacket away, in plastic tub, or wardrobe box for seasonal storage. You’ll be thrilled in the fall when you retrieve your jacket and put your hands in your pocket.
